PAAU has been featured in various national news publications. Check some of them out below:

>>Pro-life advocates with Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, Pro-Life San Francisco and Rehumanize International said they gained access to the freezer March 9 after confronting university leaders about its unethical practices as the largest and most active fetal organ bank in the nation.

“The American people must be made aware of the mass dehumanization of these unborn children who are violently killed and thrown into a freezer, whose body parts are then portioned out to researchers in pursuit of federal funding,” said Terrisa Bukovinac, founder and executive director of PAAU.

This week, the pro-life groups published a photo of the freezer, which they said contained row after row of bags and containers of aborted babies’ body parts, labeled and prepared to be shipped to scientific researchers across the country….<<

Live Action: How California could become a ‘sanctuary for the unborn’ instead of an abortion sanctuary

>>All of this adds up to make California a bit of a wild card. As a matter of fact, there is a very vital – and politically diverse – pro-life movement within the state, which has recently been the site of Pink Rose Rescue actions, in which activists enter abortion facilities and offer pink roses and life-affirming resources to the women inside. These actions have been carried out by left-leaning pro-life organizations like Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU).<<

LifeNews: Abortion Activists Push and Shove Pro-Life Students at Supreme Court During Jackson Hearing

>>At another point, the video shows the same pro-abortion woman positioning herself right in front of Terrisa Bukovinac, founder of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), and then shoving and pushing her multiple times.<<

>>The issue of fetal experimentation was at the center of a March 14 protest conducted at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Activists representing Survivors of the Abortion HolocaustProgressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), and Pro-Life San Francisco were arrested after gaining access to the institution’s late-term abortion facility, the Women’s Options Center 6G. After being held for a brief period, Terrisa Bukovinac, AJ Hurley, and Kristin Turner were later released on the same day.

Prior to the arrest, the leaders of the three respective groups facilitated a pink rose rescue, offering life-affirming resources to abortion-minded women before engaging in a nonviolent disruption. The pro-life demonstrators confronted the staff about UCSF’s practice of aborting viable children for taxpayer-funded fetal experiments, as well as the concerning lack of oversight regarding the institution’s handling of born-alive infant cases. …<<

Live Action: National Abortion Federation adds pro-life activist group to its ‘security alert’ watchlist

>>On Thursday, March 10, the National Abortion Federation (NAF) issued an internal “security alert” warning member abortion facilities about “potential ‘red rose’/’pink rose’ invasions at abortion facilities” by Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) activists. The communiqué named several PAAU members and contained their photos.

Containing several typographical errors, the circular omitted several key activists who have been involved in the PAAU Pink Rose Rescues. It also mischaracterized the rescue actions as ‘harassment.’

According to Herb Geraghty, board member of PAAU and Executive Director of Rehumanize International: “It is important to note that what they would call ‘harassment’ or ‘intimidation’ is really none of those things. It is offering roses and resources to pregnant people in need. Rescuers … are there giving concrete help to pregnant people and young families, and are saving the lives of particular children on a particular day.”…<<

>>On Saturday, members of Survivors of the Abortion HolocaustProgressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, and Pro-Life San Francisco conducted a pink rose rescue at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte in California. While the goal was to offer life-affirming resources to pregnant women, there was a specific reason these groups chose this facility to be the center of the operation.

A 2015 undercover investigation by the Center for Medical Progress exposed Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s exploitation and profiting from the sale of aborted baby body parts. According to invoices, the facility was paid nearly $25,000 for just three months’ worth of fetal parts…<<

>>Lauren Handy, another eyewitness with a pro-life group called the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, said she believes that the clinic messed up an abortion procedure.

“At 10:30, we were hearing sirens and we were like, ‘Oh, please, no,’ and then we saw them pull up,” Handy said of the ambulance.

Three emergency medical services personnel entered the clinic, which wasn’t surprising, she said.

“Today’s a later abortion day, so past 12 weeks and up to 20 weeks abortions are performed today, on Thursdays,” Handy told The Daily Signal. “Obviously, the later you are in pregnancy, the higher risk there is of complications.”

Handy said that two patients who came to the clinic during the incident Thursday morning apparently chose instead to leave when they saw the ambulances on-site.

“Two people who were going in for abortions today, they left; they didn’t get the abortions,” Handy said. “My guess is that this incident scared them.”<<

PAAU was briefly mentioned in this article by Townhall,

>>While there was a heavy faith presence, including church groups, the Knights of Columbus, and a worship concert, there was also a secular presence, with groups like Secular Pro-Life and Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU).<<

March for Life participants optimistic for a post-Roe America: 'This is just the beginning'

>>Terrisa Bukovinac, the president and founder of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising and a progressive pro-life atheist, reflected on the fact that no sitting Democratic members of Congress spoke at the rally.

“It’s devastating,” Bukovinac said. “I think that … we’ve been seeing this trend over the last 20 years where almost every single pro-life Democrat has been pushed out of Congress.”

That activist suggested that even though no pro-life Democrats currently sit in the U.S. House of Representatives, that would soon change.

“We have a Democratic, progressive, pro-life candidate running as the frontrunner in Bobby Rush’s district,” she said. The candidate she mentioned, Pastor Chris Butler, is seeking to represent Illinois’ 1st Congressional District, a district that the pro-choice Democrat Rush has represented for decades.<<

Our founder and a board member wrote this op-ed in Newsweek, which discusses the anti-abortion stance from a secular feminist progressive perspective.

>>"We've always been looking to have Roe overturned, and this year we're actually looking at that being a real immediate possibility. So that definitely takes the symbolism of the march to another level," said Terrisa Bukovinac, the founder and executive director at Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, a Washington-based nonprofit.

Bukovinac — who is also the vice president of Secular Pro-Life and describes herself as atheist, leftist and vegan — said it can be "extremely difficult" for someone with her political views to work in a movement seen by many as monolithically Christian and Republican.

"But it's so critical," she said. "Every social justice movement has to deal with these kinds of things. There is no victory without unity. The cause of protecting the unborn is just so paramount in my worldview. If I'm not willing to work through the difficulties of working with people who are so different from me, then we're not going to see a victory. And that victory is absolutely critical, so I just do it."<<

Catholic Review: Pro-life supporters prepare to march for life in Washington and Annapolis

““United for life,” is the theme of the Maryland March for Life 2022. The event includes a rally and candlelight vigil. Among the featured speakers will be Laura Bogley, director of legislation at Maryland Right to Life; Terrisa Bukovinac, founder and executive director of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising; and Toni McFadden, a pro-life activist.”

>>“The fight then goes to these very blue communities, these very leftist, very feminist communities that are right now strongholds for the abortion industrial complex,” she said. “So the fight is going to get a lot harder in those areas.”

“That’s why it’s so critical that we are all raising up the next generation, that we are giving voice to the people that come after us that are going to be moving into roles of leadership in the movement in the next three to five years,” she said.

Bukovinac hopes groups like PAAU can demonstrate the importance of highlighting pro-life progressives in those communities so that those who do not fit into the typical mold of a pro-life supporter can still feel empowered to “stand up to this regime to recognize that it is actually a symptom of capitalism and racism, and not something to defend.”<<

>>Terrisa Bukovinac, founder and executive director at the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, told Fox News that "women are already dying from exploitation by the Abortion Industrial Complex."

"Big Abortion has ensured that abortion remains unregulated, making in-clinic abortions indistinguishable from so-called ‘back alley’ abortions," Bukovinac said. "Abortion-vulnerable communities need economic and racial justice to address the root cause of abortion and the abysmal maternal mortality rate, especially for Black women, not the option to terminate the lives of our offspring!"

"Kamala Harris is purposely regurgitating outdated slogans to ensure campaign funds from the Abortion Industrial Complex," the progressive pro-life activist added. "Roe v. Wade is a barbaric remnant of white supremacy, and it must be dismantled."<<

>>Activists including the former President of Democrats for Life of America and founder of Pro Life San Francisco Terrisa Bukovinac (read an interview we did with her here) have come together to found a new organisation called Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising.

Their core committments include “the progressive feminist values of equality, non-violence, and nondiscrimination” and “radical inclusivity … magnifying secular, feminist, liberal, and LGBTQIA+ identifying pro-life voices, especially those belonging to people of color”.

It’s really great to see the next generation of pro-life people breaking out of the utterly illogical status quo in the US which says if you’re against abortion *and* support free maternal healthcare, parental leave, child and family benefits, and so on, you’ve no voice in the public debate and no party to support.<<

Live Action: A diverse pro-life movement rallied at Supreme Court: ‘Anyone can be pro-life, and everyone should be’

Our communications director Kristin Turner was mentioned in this article,

>>The diversity of the pro-life side was striking — there were groups from conservative to anti-capitalist, of every (or no) religious tradition, of all professional and educational backgrounds, who had traveled from every region of the nation.

Some came from as far away as the West Coast. Kristin Turner, Executive Director of Pro-Life San Francisco, a secular, non-partisan, youth-led organization, was one of them. Asked for her perspective on the rally and the prospects for a pro-life future, she had this to say: “Electricity was flying at the Supreme Court. The pro-life movement is continuing to build a diverse coalition who believe in rights for unborn people. I am hopeful that the Supreme Court will make the right decision and put the power back in the hands of the people.”<<

“Meanwhile, a pro-lifer with PAAU, Avery May, sported rainbow-dyed hair and spiky black earrings while hoisting a sign that read “Agnostic, leftist, queer, biracial, nonbinary, pro-life.” May flew from California to join PAAU’s demonstrations, starting on Tuesday with a protest demanding the Democratic Party embrace pro-life members.”

Our Communications Director Kristin Turner was interviewed for Breitbart, helping to promote nontraditional pro-life values and talking about how men often try to silence us.

Some of our activists were spotted in a photo in this article for fox news, including Kristin Turner who is front and center.

>>Among the relatively young pro-life crowd were some who called themselves leftists, Democrats, and feminists. “I’m also here representing alternative pro-lifers who aren’t religious, aren’t Republican,” California resident Kristin Turner told The Daily Signal.

Turner, 20, is communications director for a group called the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising. As a progressive, Turner said, she believes in “equality, nonviolence and nondiscrimination, but we understand that should be applied to every single human being from the moment they exist at fertilization, and that is not an ideological or religious viewpoint.”<<

PAAU activists featured in Getty Images this morning in Washington D.C. We will never stop standing for the preborn victims of abortion violence and against the exploitive abortion industrial complex. Dismemberment is not progress and it has got to go. People over profits, NOW!

Our new initiative is making huge waves across the political spectrum, but our work has just begun! We will be taking our message to every blue state and city to defeat big abortion and it’s capitalistic grip on the Democratic Party.

Thank you Live Action for covering this important turn for the right to life movement.

>>{Bukovinac} made the case that contrary to what abortion activists claim, the pro-life position aligns with other priorities that progressives hold near and dear to their hearts…“When I see giant corporations signing onto pro-choice letters, I have to wonder, what are their parental leave policies really like? How much are they counting on abortion to save them a buck and pad their bottom line?” she asked.

“Abortion is not progress,” she asserted. “Abortion is a regress to the pseudo-morality of might makes right and as progressives, we will not stand for it.”<<
