Washington DC - Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising’s activists celebrate the Supreme Court’s ruling to uphold the Texas Heartbeat Act while lawsuits continue. This 8-1 ruling, delivered poignantly on Human Rights Day, points towards the injustice at the heart of abortion, and that it's time to abandon it once and for all.

Founder and Executive Director Terrisa Bukovinac said, “Today the babies of Texas won, life won! We will not stop fighting for those victimized by the pro-abortion agenda and the abortion industrial complex. We are the pro-life revolution and we will dismantle abortion.”

Being located in Washington DC, PAAU’s frontline activists were able to show up at 10:30am when SCOTUS dropped their ruling at 10am. Director of Activism Lauren Handy explains, “It’s important to use our voices and presence to not only represent the preborn children but to be in solidarity with the continuing pro-life efforts in Texas.”

The Texas Abortion Industry is at its weakest with SB8 cutting off their revenue. By continuing to divest power and resources from these violent institutions, Texas can reroute support towards life-affirming organizations that give support instead of violence.  

Excited for today's ruling, activist Cassidy Shooltz further shared, “How should states be handling babies? They should be the most ardent supporters of life. And we, the advocates, must rise up in their bold defense.”

Ultimately, PAAU fights to see an end to abortion across America, and true equity for all of us.
