PRO-LIFES CONDUCT ABORTION ‘RESCUE’ ON INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 10, 2022) —- On International Human Rights Day, activists with the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising engaged in multiple direct actions called ‘Pink Rose Rescues’ in the Washington D.C. area, by visiting five local exploitive abortion businesses including: Washington Surgi-Center and The Dupont Clinic in Washington D.C., and Partners in Abortion Care, C.A.R.E. and Silver Spring Gynecology and Family Planning in Maryland. Activists successfully entered onto the property of the latter three.
The Washington Surgi-Center is the site of PAAUs discovery of fetal remains in March whose sole abortionist is Cesare Santangelo also known as the “Butcher of DC”. It is also the site of a direct action in 2020 which resulted in federal indictments for two PAAU leaders: Lauren Handy and Herb Geraghty-both of whom are facing 11 years in prison for that alleged action.
Pink Rose Rescue is a form of nonviolent resistance where activists challenge the property lines of abortion facilities to offer support, resources, and pink roses to people inside with the intention of rescuing their unborn children from a violent and imminent death. Today, PAAU activists also offered baby booties as a small holiday gift.
The theme of Human Rights Day 2022 as established by the broadly pro-abortion United Nations has been declared "Dignity, Freedom, and Justice For All” seemingly without any sense of self-awareness. The UN has continuously asserted that the killing of defenseless unborn babies is somehow a human right, an assertion that viciously and blindly contradicts their stated commitment to nonviolence and universal equality for humans.
This is lethal hypocrisy.
Terrisa Bukovinac, founder and executive director of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising states, "These unborn children, who have arms, legs, torsos, and faces, encounter brutal death by the thousands daily at the hands of someone who literally swore to do no harm. The grotesque financial gains and the profound political power made possible by unborn child killing has severely clouded the judgment of so-called medical professionals, the media, and those we look up to as leaders in our nation. This pervasive attitude has led to a global genocide, and while most Americans simply watch it happen, we will not. We will face this injustice head on, we will challenge these killing centers at every turn, and on Human Rights Day we encourage every human being across the globe to join us in this worthy struggle. It is our humanity that unites us all and nothing more. Every human being merits the most basic right to not be deliberately killed. None of us are free until all of us are free”!
PAAU Director of Public Relations Caroline Taylor Smith added, "Today, we rescued real babies from really being killed by abortion. Today, we affirmed the humanity and dignity of these children and their parents. Today we stopped tragedy from happening by directly challenging the foundations of the Abortion Industrial Complex. And today, unborn children were loved, even if we were the only ones to love them, even if we couldn’t save them. We will not respect the property lines of a killing facility. The unborn have a right to be rescued, and we will continue to answer our call of duty, following in the footsteps of past social reformers, by putting our bodies on the line for the innocent.”
