Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) Reaction to Draft Decision Striking Down Roe

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Activists from Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) reacted with cautious optimism to news that a majority of the Supreme Court may strike down Roe and Casey, landmark decisions that legalized abortion in the United States.
On Monday night, activists made their way to the Supreme Court to demonstrate in favor of human rights and against abortion. At around midnight, a group from PAAU was aggressively displaced from their location by violent pro-abortion demonstrators.
Speaking after the demonstration, PAAU Founder and President Terrisa Bukovinac praised the possible ruling:
“If this decision is final, it will be a victory for true progressive ideals and social justice. Americans have a right to make laws on abortion that protect both women and children. There’s nothing progressive about laws that extinguish the lives of preborn children.
“In particular, an end to Roe would make it easier to protect the lives of children subject to horrific late-term abortions, such as those we found last month in a box intended for incineration by a medical waste company.
“While we are progressives who disagree with these Supreme Court justices on many other questions, we applaud them on their courage here. A decision overturning Roe would join a long list of decisions advancing social justice in this country, such as Brown v. Board of Education and Lawrence v. Texas.
“While this decision would be an important first step, the fight would not end here. We need to fight at the state level for laws that protect preborn children, including a comprehensive approach to eliminate the factors that push people to choose abortion. Likewise, we need to keep expanding the pro-life movement’s laudable work to support women and those experiencing crisis pregnancies, such as at the thousands of pregnancy centers across the nation.”
The activists also announced they would change their existing plans to demonstrate outside the Medical Examiner’s Office where the five aborted late-term babies are being held who were recently recovered from a medical waste box outside notorious late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo’s decades-old abortion business.
Instead, PAAU will host a demonstration at the Supreme Court.
