CHICAGO, IL—On Thursday, June 16th, at 1PM, progressive and left-leaning pro-life advocates will gather in downtown Chicago at the Office of the Governor to support pro-life Democratic Congressional candidate Pastor Chris Butler.
Pastor Chris is a leading candidate for the US House of Representatives in Illinois 1st Congressional district, a seat which has been held for nearly three decades by pro-abortion extremist, Bobby Rush.
After months of campaigning, an announcement from Rush that he would not seek re-election last summer, and the entrance of more than 15 additional candidates to the race, there is still no indication of a clear frontrunner, but Pastor Chris has taken a lead in grassroots organizing.
Life-affirming Americans from across the nation want a progressive pro-life candidate in Congress that will stand for the dignity of every human person.
Contrary to Illinois Governor Pritzger’s radical pro-abortion policies, Pastor Chris recognizes the eugenic and classist nature of Big Abortion’s exploitation of communities of color, and vows to confront leaders who are complicit in Black genocide.
Pastor Chris is committed to ending the systemic killing of our children whether from gun violence or abortion.

Terrisa Bukovinac, Founder and Executive Director of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising said: “Chris Butler is the only Democratic candidate running in the primary who pro-life people can support. His leadership in committing to defend vulnerable communities at every stage of life is truly progressive and makes him a stand out candidate in this contentious race.”
Pastor LaTonya Lambert, a Chicago native and constituent said: “Chris Butler is a common sense Democrat with close connections in his community. He has a strong record on all issues that matter: racial justice, advocating for Chicago, and opposing the extremist abortion policies of other Democrats in this primary. He will work hard for all residents of the first district across political divides.”
Kristen Day, Executive Director of Democrats for Life of America, said: “Pastor Chris will fight for families and for the vulnerable, from the womb to the tomb. He will not only protect the unborn but also provide support to families by addressing income inequalities.”
Amy Gehrke of Illinois Right to Life Action said, “Illinois Right to Life Action is proud to stand with Chris Butler. His bold, life-affirming agenda will provide tangible resources to help women and their preborn children. It will build a culture of life in which abortion is unnecessary and unthinkable.”
