Progressive Pro-Life Activists Decry DOJ Trump Raid and Demand Justice For The Five
WASHINGTON D.C. (August, 9th, 2022)—Pro-life progressives from Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) are outraged that the U.S. Justice Department, under Merrick Garland’s leadership, raided the home of former President Donald Trump to recover documents, but failed to investigate the deaths of five late-term babies recovered by PAAU activists in Washington D.C. in March.
At least two of those babies appeared to be victims of infanticide while a third showed injuries consistent with a partial birth abortion. Both infanticide and partial birth abortion are federal crimes.
Why is Merrick Garland pursuing documents rather than Cesare Santangelo, the killer of the DC Five?
PAAU Founder and Executive Director Terrisa Bukovinac said “It is outrageous that human babies can be brutally murdered in our nation’s Capitol with impunity while the so-called Justice Department claims that recovering pieces of paper is a matter of national security. Garland and the DOJ have consistently failed to hold baby killers to account and instead use our nation’s resources for political theater.”
Garland’s inaction on bahalf of the babies is just another example of the DOJ’s failure to adequately investigate and prosecute the perpetrators of infanticide and federal crimes associated with abortion such as fetal organ procurement and trafficking.
In 2017 the DOJ announced they were opening an investigation into Planned Parenthood and others based on recommendations by an investigative congressional select panel. So far, the DOJ has failed to provide the public with any information obtained from that investigation and Planned Parenthood and their collaborators have been able to continue business as usual.
PAAU Director of Activism Lauren Handy said “I am facing a federal indictment and possibly 11 years in prison for the nonviolent direct action at the location where the five babies were killed, meanwhile the DOJ has done nothing to investigate these deaths and instead is busy pandering to the Democratic Party establishment. The Justice Department has been weaponized to benefit the Abortion Industrial Complex.”
In March, the Justice Department charged Handy and eight others with federal civil rights offenses in connection with an alleged blockade at the Santangelo’s Washington Surgi-Clinic in D.C. in 2020. If convicted, the defendants each face up to 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $350,000.
